With the recent expiration of the State of Emergency in Alaska for the coronavirus pandemic, please be aware that insurance coverage for COVID-19 related care will likely change. Under the State of Emergency, most deductibles and copays were waived for COVID-related care and telehealth visits were covered at the same rates as in-office visits. We expect that some plans will be removing these accommodations for medical care during the pandemic now that the the State of Emergency in Alaska is no longer in place. We encourage you to know your plan’s policies so you are not faced with unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. We, too, will do our best to remain abreast of changes in coverage, but are sometimes unaware of changes specific to patient insurance plans until care has already been provided.
